I was born and raised in New York City and once you’re a New Yorker you always will be a New Yorker no matter where it is that you live. It’s one of those things about New York. It’s such a totally different place than any other city in our country. Everything is open 24 hours a day and the bars don’t close at 2:00 A.M. like they do in most places.
From December 12th through the 16th I will be visiting old friends, some family, and a lot of my old stomping ground from when I was a teenager. I lived in New York for 23 years and I miss it a lot. My wife-to-be Kathleen has never been, she is from Texas. She will be coming along and I will be sharing with her what is so great about New York City. The pizza, the bagels, the soft-hot pretzels, and all that is New York… even better is it’s almost time for Christmas.
We will be staying in Secaucus, New Jersey which is near The Meadowlands and Giant’s Stadium. We will be in Staten Island as well since I actually lived there the most. We will be doing some tourist things as well since I never visited The Statue of Liberty, The World Trade Center, The Empire State Building, or any of the other attractions like Rockefeller Plaza and the huge Christmas Tree there. Ground Zero is a definite stop since September 11th, 2001 affected me a lot. I’ll be bringing my camera and I also borrowed a friend’s video camera as well for some movie taking. It should be a lot of fun!
